Do Blondes really have more fun?

For all of our blonde bombshells out there - we get it! Sometimes being blonde is overwhelming and feels like a lot of work. This is because blonde hair is more fragile and delicate. It needs extra protection from heat, harsh products, and environmental factors that can cause brassiness and damage.

But never fear, we can confirm that looking after your blonde locks is easier than you think. It's all about choosing the right products and following a few simple steps to help make your blonde life a little brighter and easier … so you can get back to having more fun!

Choose the right Shampoo and Conditioner.
Blonde hair needs support to help retain moisture, improve the condition and add shine, smoothness and body. We know it sounds complicated. It really isn't, though. Selecting a shampoo such as JUSTICE Professional Perfect Violet Shampoo that is gentle on your hair whilst promoting body and texture and at the same time removing unwanted brassy tones. Your conditioner should be focused on locking in moisture and providing shine and smoothness.

Shampoo less often
Excessive shampooing will remove your hairs protective coating of natural oils and can strip the colour pigments. When you do wash your hair, always follow with a final rinse of cool water, to close the cuticles and help reduce the fading process.

Use Dry Shampoo in-between washes.
If your hair starts looking greasy, refresh it using JUSTICE Professional Dry Nutrient Shampoo. It will allow you to skip a day shampooing and blow-drying your hair which is helpful because when we avoid excessively cleansing our hair, we give our hair colour and toners more longevity. Additionally, this dry shampoo adds volume and helps your curls stay in good shape. A (blonde) girl's best friend!

Avoid heat damage and sun exposure.
We tend to love HOT things, like lattes, the beach, and celebrities. But our hair, on the other hand, does not! Hitting your hair with heat can be especially concerning for blondes because the hair has already been put through some stress to achieve the bombshell blonde hair colour.

If you are going to use your heat tools, you should always completely dry your hair first. Allow it to air dry if possible! And always make sure to apply a heat protectant.

We aren't saying you have to sacrifice style! You can still create effortless-looking beachy waves by spritzing JUSTICE Professional Sea Salt Spray into towel-dried hair. Leave it to dry naturally, or braid your hair and undo the braid once your hair has dried.

Did you know …

Light-coloured hair is also more sensitive to sun exposure because it lacks the protective pigments found in darker colours. Additionally, the chemicals used in the blonde colouring process raise the cuticle and leave the hair susceptible to UV damage and colour fading.
When you are out in the sun for more extended periods, cover your head with a scarf or hat (perfect in these Winter months!) to protect your hair against harmful UV rays.

Treatments are a must!
Natural elements such as wind, sun (as we mentioned) and water combined with the extremes of each season change the needs of everyone's hair. For blondes, this is even more crucial. Protein is essential to build strength as bleach, tints and sun can weaken blonde hair and make it dull. Selecting a treatment, such as JUSTICE Professional Perfect Violet Mask, that repairs damage and strengthens hair without weighing it down is the way to go. BONUS, this mask also helps to banish the brass! Frequency is another important factor. If you've got blonde hair and regularly thermal style, you will likely benefit from applying a treatment 2–3 times a week. Your hair will love you for it!

Help your hair colour look great and last longer.
Blonde comes in so many shades and tones. Cool, warm, ash, golden, platinum...Keeping your colour looking good for longer comes down to the products you use and how often you need to use them. Violet shampoos and treatments are a great way to tone unwanted brassiness and help enhance your colour's brightness. The frequency of using colour improving and balancing products depends on the results you want to achieve. Get regular trims
Ends looking and feeling a little rough? It's time for a Style Cut! Trimming every 4-6 weeks is necessary to remove split ends so you can keep your blonde mane looking as gorgeous as can be!

Remember that beautiful hair is an investment. So, take care of it and protect it.
